One True Love

Anyone can go to the gym to work on their fitness, but TRUE Ride nourishes both body and soul.

The five-year-old cycling and strength boutique offers more than a heart-pounding – and exhilarating –  workout. “Inside our four walls you will find community, energy, encouragement and freedom to be the truest version of yourself,” says studio manager Olivia Webb. “We are a team, working toward a common goal; empowering you to find health and happiness, not only for the 45 minutes we spend together, but for your entire life.”

Owned by Dan and Laurie Ryan, TRUE Ride incorporates interval-training concepts on their rides that take your heart rate to significant highs and recuperative lows. “We are not just a gym. We are a community of people who lift one another up,” Webb says. “In one 45-minute class, you get more than a workout. You get therapy, and walk out with a great feeling. We all ride as one to the beat of the music in a dark room with an LED light wall.” Tailored music playlists keep the energy up, and instructors like Webb work to inspire the athlete in everyone by offering high-energy, exhilarating classes for all levels.

While the fitness experience is the core behind TRUE Ride, the benefits of its community is apparent in its charitable endeavors. “Any chance we get to give back to our community is when we feel our happiest,” the Ryans say. “One of our favorite memories is our yearly Bike Bark and Brew fundraiser for the K-9 departments of our local law enforcement.”

In May, TRUE Ride loaded up its bikes and transported them to Fall River Brewing Company for three, 45minute spin classes with all proceeds benefiting K-9 programs in North State law departments. A total of more than $10,000 was raised. Other charitable events TRUE Ride supports include Operation Blue Santa, the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, One SAFE Place and PAWS for a cause.

The TRUE Ride folks even get patriotic. “Every year on the Fourth of July, we take all 45 bikes to the Sundial Bridge and we rock the bridge with our rhythm,” Webb says.

From beginner to expert, TRUE Ride works with – and challenges – its clients. “Do not be intimidated! We know it’s scary to join a new studio, but everyone is welcome here at TRUE Ride,” Webb says. “Our support staff, instructors and members are all very welcoming.”

They offer the ability to pay for one class  or series  of five, 10 or 20 or 30. They also offer unlimited monthly rates, which is great … because once you clip in to  the bike, you’ll want to keep coming back.

“We have created an environment that has changed people’s lives, and that’s what keeps us going,” say Laurie and Dan Ryan.
