Sundial Dentistry…

Dr. Mark Lewis and Sundial Dentistry’s mission really is to make you smile. After all, he knows first-hand how a good dentist can transform a person.

“I’ve always wanted to be a dentist,” Dr. Lewis says on his website biography. “As a kid, I had very crooked teeth and was embarrassed to smile. My dentist, Dr. Gus Petras, helped me fix that and showed me how dentistry can change a person’s life.”

Now Dr. Lewis is working to pay it forward, once smile at a time. A North State native who met his wife Christine at Shasta College, Dr. Lewis attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served eight years, becoming the youngest commander to run the Cannon Air Force Base Dental Clinic. His military service was truly transformative on both a professional and personal level.

“When I was a child, I had a severe speech impediment and fear of public speaking. By the time I reached high school, speech therapy had fixed the speech impediment, but my fear of public speaking remained,” he says. “Through my time in the Air Force, I was continuously pushed to address this fear as I was promoted to positions of leadership. By the time I became the commander of the Cannon AFB Dental Squadron, I had achieved a sense of confidence and calm when addressing large groups of Airmen under my command.”

Upon leaving the military (he’s still active in the Oregon National Guard), the Lewises moved back home with their two children to raise them near family. His Churn Creek Road office has been seeing patients since December 2020 with a passion for quality dental care with integrity.

“My style of dentistry combines biomimetic dentistry, conservative diagnostics and patient-centered care,” he says. “We truly care about our patients, not just their oral health, but their overall health and wellness.”

From the initial visit to follow-up appointments, Dr. Lewis and his staff get to know their patients’ needs and concerns. They offer an array of services from teeth cleaning, X-rays and other preventative dentistry to tooth restoration, implants, crowns, cosmetic dentistry and orthodontic care. Their website is full of useful information about all their services as well as patient forms to expedite your visit.

If you’re looking for someone to make your smile shine brighter or fix some problem areas, Sundial Dentistry is your bridge to better oral health.
