Disappearing Act

Keats wrote, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.”

And Dr. Jory Kaplan and wife Julie Bass Kaplan have worked for more than 20 years helping their Disappearing Act Medical Aesthetics clients achieve the beauty they desire for themselves. “We love the relationships we have made over the last 22 years with our patients,” Julie Bass Kaplan says. “Our focus is on natural beauty and safety.”

A leader in the field of cosmetic laser and aesthetic treatment, Dr. Kaplan has worked for more than 30 years in his specialty area – ear, nose, throat and facial plastic surgery. He’s a founding member of the Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery.

Julie Bass Kaplan holds eight degrees and certifications and completed Sonoma State University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program in May 2019. Additionally, she travels to teach the art and safety of medical aesthetic injectables and holds certification as a speaker and trainer for Allergan Medical Institute, holding workshops across the country.

“Julie is a key opinion leader in their field of aesthetic medicine and speaks globally about safety and artistry of fillers, Botox and lasers,” Dr. Kaplan says proudly. Disappearing Act is an Allergan top-25 business in the United States, a milestone the Kaplans and their team celebrate.

The Kaplans met in an operating room in 1992, fell in love in 1998 and within six months had married, begun a family and started Disappearing Act. “We started our business with no idea where the practice of aesthetic medicine would lead,” Julie Bass Kaplan says. “We are so happy we took the risks.”

So, too, are countless patients who’ve benefited from the Kaplans’ skill, dedication and expertise. Disappearing Act offers laser-based, Sciton Joule, fillers, neurotoxins, body sculpting, hyperhidrosis, collagen boosting, acne and scar reduction and nutritional services.

Their website – www.disappearingact.com – features detailed explanations of their procedures as well as before-and-after pictures for reference. The website not only offers monthly specials, but the patient portal allows an easy check-in experience that allows the Disappearing Act team to focus solely on each individual. In addition, Disappearing Act has an active presence on Facebook and Instagram that is informative, but also shows off Julie Bass Kaplan’s fun side.

“Such a great experience!” writes Wendy M. in a testimonial on their website. “The entire staff is so warm and welcoming. Julie is the absolute best! The time and effort she put into explaining all aspects of the procedure as well as the care taken in performing the treatment was remarkable.”

And as much as their patients love the Kaplans, after 20-plus years, the feeling is mutual. “These connections continue to lift us up in countless ways,” Julie Bass Kaplan says. “Our community is priceless.”
