Jasper and Melissa Hudson don’t just sell the best gear for your outdoor adventures. They live and believe in what they sell because they’re out there using and testing the products so they can be true representatives for their Market Street business, Jefferson State Adventure Hub.
“When I was a teenager, I would come visit my uncle in Redding every summer to enjoy the outdoors in all its capacities,” Jasper says. “Hiking, biking, hunting, fishing and water sports.”
Along with Melissa, son Ryder and shop dog Zip, the Hudsons have made Jefferson State Adventure Hub the first place you should turn when looking for outdoor gear. “We truly enjoy what we do,” Jasper says. “We enjoy directing people to the best places with the best products on the market. We want to start people off right.”
From high-quality road and gravel bikes to kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and accessories and packs for hiking and camping, Jefferson State Adventure Hub is an outdoor enthusiasts’ candy store.

“We are seeking community with everyone,” he says. “We are here to show an interest in everyone and whatever maximizes their purpose and enjoyment in the outdoors.”
They can stand behind what they sell because more often than not they’ve used it on the trail or water already. “Honestly, seeing the joy and excitement people have on their adventures, knowing I help make it possible because I did my job well is so satisfying,” Jasper says, adding they’ve helped three veterans who use their products as their only transportation.
And while the world might seem more divided than ever, Jasper says the Hudsons feel a calling that “it’s my job to do my job to be good for everyone.”
After all, Jasper says, “Life is a beautiful ride” … or walk, run or paddle.
