With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, you can say we’ve got a sunny disposition around here and that is reflected in the community around us. People have come here from all over the world, to visit and to relocate, and have repeatedly said that the Redding community has some of the friendliest people they’ve met. Maybe it is the sunshine that makes us happier here, or maybe its the river that runs through it. The Sacramento River is California’s longest river and that makes for some great adventures. Raft, kayak or fly fish the river... yes, we do have the largest fly fishing business in the world located here (say hello to The Fly Shop). Or maybe its because of the many miles of trails that connect us to the beauty around us. We’ve also heard the rumor that we are the “Trails Capital of California,” and we agree with that. But the sunshine. Let’s get back to the sunshine. Put the sunshine and the river and trails together and wrap them up in the Sundial Bridge, one the world’s largest working sundials, and you’ve got a mix for something very special. Maybe that’s why so many incredibly talented and gifted people have been drawn to Redding, setting down roots, opening up businesses and helping this city step into a new renaissance of culture and creativity. It’s the mix of beauty and nature and good people, blending together in perfect harmony, drawing the best of the best to Redding. On this site, we have the privilege of sharing some of these wonderful people and their businesses with you.
