Audiology Associates of Redding

For more than 37 years, Audiology Associates of Redding has provided first-class care for patients needing hearing tests, hearing aids, hearing protection and implantable devices. So when Dr. Brenna Peters took over the business in the summer of 2022, she knew she wanted to continue that level of care and expertise going.

“The stars aligned and I’m honored to continue the tradition of excellent care,” Dr. Peters says of taking over for Dr. Rita McWilliams. “Being a business owner is still very surreal. Taking over the practice is still very fresh and exciting.”

While the ownership has changed, the commitment to bring access to sound for patients hasn’t. Audiology Associates of Redding is the only private practice north of Sacramento that specializes in cochlear implants and is the lone private practice in the Redding area with an Au.D. provider (Doctorate in Audiology).

“Any time I can improve a life with better access to sound is a great achievement,” Dr. Peters says. “It is powerful to play a role in giving someone the gift of hearing.”

Dr. Peters grew up in the North State before pursuing a bachelor’s degree in audiology and speech-language sciences in 2014. In 2018, she obtained her doctorate in audiology from the University of Northern Colorado. After working in several ENT practices in Portland, Ore., she returned home to Redding.

“I grew up in the area and have been fortunate to return home and now be a business owner,” she says. “I have a passion for what I do and to be able to serve my community makes it even more special.”

While she’s mastering the business side, Dr. Peters has a wonderful staff, including audiology assistant Kaitlin, billing manager Morgan and even Mowgli, the certified office dog. Their website, www.besthearing.us, provides a comprehensive look at services, including hearing loss, balance issues and hearing aids. It also details their top-of-the-line manufacturers. A patient portal makes requesting an appointment a snap, as well as insurance forms and other vital information.

“Hearing loss affects so many people, and the education and how it affects our bodies, specifically cognition, is not widely known,” Dr. Peters says. “Education used to positively impact lives is very inspiring to me.”
