Dandy Lions Children’s Shop

Jessica Sylvia’s love of going to toy stores with her grandparents helped her take a leap of faith 13 years ago and open Dandy Lions Children’s Shop. The Red Bluff store specializes in unique clothes, toys, books and plushes for kids.

“When I was a child, I had such fond memories of going to toy stores with my grandparents,” Sylvia says. “I want the same for children that come into my store.”

And why wouldn’t they? Dandy Lions is a veritable playground for the young and young at heart. From newborn to infants and children, there’s something for everyone and it’s a great place to find gifts for those special little angels.

Sylvia was working at a similar store when news broke that it was closing. “A customer asked me, ‘I don’t know your last name, but do you want to buy this store or open your own?’” she says, adding she threw fear and caution to the wind. “Nine days later, we signed a lease.”

And she hasn’t looked back.

Located in the heart of Red Bluff, the Main Street store is warm and inviting and part of a vibrant Red Bluff downtown. “We are just a couple of Northern California moms that love to shop and find unique and unusual products,” she says. “It inspires me to find toys that can be passed down through the generations.”

The only problem with Dandy Lions might be getting your young one out of the colorful and fun store.

Whether you’re looking for a keepsake baby’s book to track your little one or a grandparent looking for a hearty toy that will be played with endlessly or a mom who wants a fun and engaging book, chances are Dandy Lions has exactly what you need.

“I want people to enjoy coming in and looking around,” Sylvia says. “It gives me so much motivation when people compliment the store. I want children to come in and have fond memories like I used to have.”
