EveryDay Fitness
Just as EveryDay Fitness customers sculpt, craft and hone their bodies, Owner Larry Fuqua, General Manager Tonja Donoho and the staff at the Athens Avenue gym work daily to ensure it’s Redding’s finest and most popular. “This place is more than just a gym,” Fuqua says.
After all, there are plenty of places to lift weights. But EveryDay Fitness is so much more. “We are not just locally owned, or even just family owned,” Fuqua says. “We are family run.”
When Total Fitness was set to shutter in 2008, Fuqua and friends stepped in to keep the gym running – it had been Total Fitness for nearly 20 years and Gold’s Gym prior. And when the renovation was complete, EveryDay Fitness emerged, stronger than ever.
Fuqua and his wife Vicki became sole proprietors in 2015, a move that filled the couple with pride and redoubled their commitment to the Redding health community.
The 21,000-square-foot facility boasts scads of space for state-of-the-art strength equipment, cardio and Group Fitness areas. They offer a variety of membership levels and have personal training available along with other amenities including meal planning, tanning, Kids Club and pro shop. Additionally, there are specialty classes offered in everything from MMA to yoga and Women With Weights.
Bottom line – if you’re into fitness and building a better you, EveryDay Fitness has something for you. “We strive to offer the very best in training and the largest selection of equipment as well as maintain a clean and friendly facility for the health- and fitness-minded residents of Redding,” Fuqua says.
And while all of the amenities set the bar as one of the North State’s premier gyms, it’s really Fuqua and his amazing staff that elevate EveryDay Fitness to another level. Larry points to Tonja, their General Manager, who’s been with EveryDay Fitness for 12 years.
“We are incredibly proud of our development of our key staff members,” he says. “We have been fortunate to not only find local, smart and hard-working teammates, but have been able to find different ways to reward and contribute to their professional and personal growth. We believe without those key players, we wouldn’t have been able to continue to provide the excellent service to our members.”
And seeing how the community has embraced EveryDay Fitness continues to inspire Fuqua and his staff. “Our team, the support of our members and the Redding community – all three of those allow us to continue doing what we love to do,” Fuqua says. “Without those three things, we wouldn’t be here.”
In the increasingly competitive fitness market, Fuqua says, community and family make the difference, doubling back to the fact that EveryDay Fitness is more than just “a gym.”
“It’s friendships, therapy, livelihood and well-being, and we need to keep that alive,” he says.
